Assembly Supervisor
Your role
As a member of the team, you will be responsible for effectively leading, supervising, and coordinating the assembly department, employees, and related non-production operations and services to achieve effective, measurable levels of productivity. The main areas of responsibility include mechanical and electrical assembly, paint, and packing.
Your responsibilities
- Maintain production schedules and estimate material and standard hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
- Responsible for the daily practice of world-class manufacturing principles, including lean and 5S applications.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving problems.
- Maintain daily time and attendance records using ERP LN, including OT and scheduling of all vacation.
- Schedule production needs to meet required delivery dates and maximize efficiency.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of the product.
- Interpret company policies to workers, safety regulations, and enforce company rules.
- Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and direct setups and adjustments or maintenance of machines or equipment.
- Maintain fair and equitable relations with the Union and other Union representatives.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the shop, department, or workgroup.
- Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Participate in the interview and selection process of internal and external candidates for job openings.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
- Two (2) year Associate's Degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing/unionized environment.
- Experience coordinating the implementation and maintenance of lean and 5S principles required.
- Effective utilization of MRP business operating system (ERP LN) and other related computer programs (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Familiarization with metal forming equipment desired, able to read/interpret machine shop & assembly-related drawings.
- Experience with electrical safety and heavy equipment rigging.
- Must be available for OT and off-shift requirements as production deems necessary.
- Will be required to work in a manufacturing environment on a daily basis.
- Occasional lifting requirements up to approximately 50 pounds.
